Tazewell County Public Schools (TCPS) is proud to announce that it ranked 19th overall among Virginia’s 131 school divisions based on Standards of Learning (SOL) results released by the state on August 25, 2026, for the 2025–2026 school year.
With an overall SOL pass rate of 79.22%, TCPS performed above both state and regional benchmarks. The division’s pass rate exceeded the Virginia average of 72.79% and the Region 7 Southwest Virginia average of 74.42%. This year’s results reinforce a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, with TCPS ranking among Virginia’s top 20 school divisions in every reported year since 2017.
TCPS will continue analyzing assessment data, strengthening instruction, and providing targeted support to ensure every student has opportunities for continued growth and success. The division remains focused on innovation in academics, career and workforce preparation, and student support services.
