In a renewed effort to strengthen communication and foster a more collaborative working relationship, the Tazewell County School Board and the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors will hold a joint meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Tazewell County Student Center.

Since being elected to leadership roles, Board of Supervisors Chair Chuck Presley and School Board Chair Erik Robinson have worked to bring both boards together and establish a more cooperative approach to addressing shared priorities across the county.

“This meeting represents an opportunity to reset and move forward together,” said Robinson. “Both boards ultimately serve the same community, and there is a shared responsibility to work collaboratively for the benefit of our students and citizens. Strengthening that partnership is essential as we look ahead to the decisions and investments that will shape the future of Tazewell County.”

Presley echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the importance of cooperation. “There is a clear path forward when communication improves and goals are aligned,” said Presley. “This joint meeting is about building that foundation and ensuring we are working together in a productive and respectful way.”

The agenda will focus on several key topics related to education, finances, and long-term planning, as both boards seek common ground and shared direction.

The joint session reflects a commitment from both boards to improve relationships, enhance transparency, and work more effectively in serving the residents of Tazewell County.
